Yes, the wallboards are responsive web pages and therefore need internet access to download the content.
Once the content has been downloaded it is stored on the digital signage device’s storage. The web page will use the locally stored data to display on the screen.
The wallboard automatically attempts to refresh its local stored data every 60 seconds.
No, all refreshes of data is performed behind the scenes and dynamically displayed on the screen. The page will never reload, although the data will change when sessions end and the next one is scheduled.
The wallboards are designed to operate without consistent internet connectivity. As long as they have connected to download their content, they will continue to operate as normal until they reach the end of the content timeline to display.
The only thing they won’t be able to do is display any changes to the schedule in the room or event that you may make after the point of the last successful data download.
The wallboards are web pages, so your digital signage solution must be capable of displaying web pages.
Most venue digital signage solutions are capable of doing this, but some are not.
If they aren’t able to help you, then you could hire our onsite digital signage solution where we provide all the screens and players, or you could create your own.
All you’ll need is a TV screen (recommended minimum 32″), a tripod stand, and a Raspberry Pi or similar low powered computer with WiFi and a browser.
